What Faith is Not

From the Pastor’s Desk – Sunday, October 15, 2017

Faith is not Hocus Pocus. It is not Will Power. It is not denying what is in your sight. Faith is calling into existence the things that are not seen. Faith is believing in the “Not”!

The bible says: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” We must call into existence the things that are not, as though they were. The four Lepers in 2 Kings 7:3-20 had a full comprehension of the dilemma that they faced. However, they did not say, “Let’s just think this situation out of existence.” But they began to move forward by Faith, not knowing the manner or method of God’s deliverance. God magnified their steps. In the eleventh chapter of Hebrews, the bible says: “These all died in faith…” They didn’t even get what they were looking for, but they had Holy Vision, saw it afar off, couldn’t be shaken, were persuaded, held on to it; even in times of adversity, embraced it, and made a Confession “this is what we must do.” Peter was on the stormy sea, and Jesus said “come.” I know that your life has been like that storm, but Jesus has the power to calm the storms of your life. Make the “Leap of faith” into the arms of the Lord Jesus today. God Bless You!
